A Season of Magic and Momentum

This fall has felt like a season stitched together with gratitude, surprise, and a touch of magic.

It’s hard to believe that less than a year ago, I had just published my first book, Asher’s Christmas Adventure. Since then, good fortune has seemed to meet me at the door, not by accident but through dedication, long days, and the simple joy of sharing my stories with others.

Maybe a little luck was sprinkled in too, but mostly, it’s been about believing in what I do and showing up again and again, even on the quiet days when the world doesn't seem to notice.

Two New Books, Two Special Journeys

On September 1, my newest Christmas story, Asher’s Christmas Wish, officially released. It’s the prequel to Asher’s Christmas Adventure and tells how a lost puppy found his forever home with a little help from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and two kindhearted elves named Magnolia and Ruby.

Seeing Asher’s journey continue has meant so much to me, especially knowing how many families have already fallen in love with his story.

Just a few weeks later, on September 25, I celebrated another milestone: the release of Maddie: A Little Ghost with a Secret.

This story was two years in the making. Maddie is a friendly little ghost from Terlingua, Texas, who discovers her special gift isn’t spooky at all; it’s filled with love and heart. Watching children connect with her story has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my writing journey so far.

Festivals, Friendships, and Firsts

In the midst of these book releases, I’ve had the joy of meeting so many wonderful readers and fellow authors.

At the Trinity River Book Festival, I met Leslie Storey from Lone Star Literary Life. We shared such a genuine connection that day, and I was later featured in their October issue, a joyful surprise that reminded me how every encounter can open a new door.

Soon after, I was invited to participate in the Garland Central Library’s first Author Showcase, a meaningful event that celebrated Texas authors and community storytelling.

Being part of that inaugural gathering felt special, as if Maddie and Asher were right there beside me, tails wagging and cupcakes in hand, ready to meet new readers.

A Fairground Surprise

And this week brings something completely unexpected: a rare opportunity to share Maddie at the State Fair of Texas, thanks to a kind vendor who invited me to display my books at their booth this Saturday. The illustrator for Maddie helped make the connection, and it’s an opportunity I’m truly looking forward to—one more reminder of how teamwork, timing, and a little faith can lead to something wonderful.

Looking Ahead

As the year continues, I’m thrilled to have several exciting events on the horizon. I’ll soon be doing author signings and storytimes at three wonderful independent bookstores: Interabang Books, Bibliobar Bookstore, and Patchouli Joe’s. Each one is known for its warmth, creativity, and love for storytelling.

I’ll also be heading to Buck Atom’s Cosmic Curios on 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, later this year for a holiday signing that promises to be as joyful and quirky as it sounds.

Gratitude and Growth

It’s been a year of movement and meaning, a reminder that small beginnings can grow into something beautiful when nurtured with love, persistence, and a whole lot of faith.

II’ve learned that being seen isn’t about recognition; it’s about connection. At the Asher’s Christmas Wish release party, one little girl clutched her book so tightly she didn’t want to hand it over for me and the illustrator to sign, afraid she might not get it back. In that moment, I realized how deeply a story can matter to a child, and how something I wrote in the quiet of my home could become a treasure in someone else’s hands.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in these stories and shared in their magic. Whether you’ve met Asher, discovered Maddie, or simply cheered me on from a distance, please know how grateful I am. Here’s to what’s ahead and all the quiet wonder waiting just beyond the next page.
