And honestly… she made sure of it
Well… it’s time. Brave Belle Saves the Day is officially out in the world, and if I know Belle, she would say it’s about time everyone else caught up.
For those who have followed along from the beginning, you already know Belle did not quietly enter our home. She arrived with opinions and a level of confidence that didn’t quite match her very small body.
From day one she made it clear the broom was suspicious, the vacuum cleaner was definitely up to something, and every shoe I owned was fair game.
And the cats? In Belle’s mind, they clearly belong to her. It didn’t take long before I started writing things down.
From Real Life to the Page
Belle has always been full of personality, but what makes her special isn’t just the mischief. It’s the way she throws her whole heart into whatever she thinks needs handling in the moment.
Most of the time, she is the happiest little dog you could ever meet. She has never met a stranger and usually assumes everyone is here to see her. But the second something feels off, that protective streak shows up fast.
And when it does… watch out. That combination of joy, curiosity, and fierce loyalty is what shaped Brave Belle Saves the Day. I didn’t have to invent much. I mostly just had to pay attention and try to keep up with her.
Why I Think Kids Get Her
One thing I’ve noticed when I share Belle’s story is how quickly children seem to understand her.
She reacts big. She feels big. She is still figuring things out. And honestly, aren’t most kids doing the exact same thing?
Belle doesn’t always get it right the first time. She makes bold decisions. She sometimes overreacts. But underneath all that determination is a very loving little dog who just wants her world to feel safe and make sense.
This Is Just the Beginning
Now that Brave Belle Saves the Day is out in the world, I can already tell she isn’t finished. There are more Belle moments piling up around here, and some of them are already working their way into the next stories.
Because if there is one thing I have learned, it’s this... when Belle has something to say, she usually finds a way to say it. As I write this, she is sitting next to me, chewing a paper plate into tiny shreds. When I am not writing about her, I am cleaning up after her.

With joy,
Cindy J. Vanous
