Belle is the newest member of our family, and she’s already running the show. She’s a pint-sized pup with a big attitude — sassy, mischievous, and hilariously suspicious of everything from laundry baskets to broomsticks.
She’s also loving, loyal, and full of the kind of quirky behavior that made me take note and say, “This needs to be a book.” From the moment she trotted into our lives, I knew Belle was special. I started writing down her daily antics. What began as playful journaling quickly turned into something more: the start of a new children’s picture book series.
A New Series Begins
The first book, Belle and the Broom, is already in production. It’s every bit as fun and feisty as the real-life Belle. In this story, Belle faces off against a terrifying household villain (you guessed it — the broom!) in a playful showdown that celebrates bravery in small packages.
The story is lighthearted and full of charm. It is perfect for early readers and anyone who’s ever shared life with a strong-willed little dog.
I’m thrilled to share that William “Bubba” Flint is illustrating the series! You will see his work on September 1st, when Asher's Christmas Wish is released. For Belle, it’s a perfect match. His vintage-inspired style and gift for expression bring Belle to life with heart and humor.
A Series for All Readers
As a children’s book author, I want every story to be fun, accessible, and full of joy. With Belle, I’m also thinking about kids who may be early or reluctant readers. These books will be:
Playful and funny enough to keep kids turning the page.
Lyrical and clear for those still developing confidence.
Dyslexia-friendly versions of this story will be written in structure and tone — without sacrificing heart.
Because reading should feel like a treat, not a chore.
The Importance of Inclusion
My hope is that the first book will be released in early 2026. I look forward to having several of her stories published next year. I am also anxious about creating versions of these books that allow children with dyslexia to enjoy reading about Belle too. Inclusion is important to me as a children's book author.
I believe that every child deserves to see themselves in stories. This is why I am committed to making Belle's adventures accessible to all.
The Journey Ahead
As I embark on this journey, I am excited to share Belle's stories with the world. Each tale will reflect her unique personality and the lessons she teaches us about bravery, friendship, and love.
I envision Belle becoming a beloved character for children everywhere. Her adventures will inspire laughter and joy, encouraging kids to embrace their quirks and find courage in everyday challenges.
With joy,
Cindy
She’s adorable!
